° "Tri-Stat ECO" - Benzyl Alcohol/Glyceryl Caprylate/Glyceryl Undecylenate

• Broad spectrum preservative blend based on nature identical and nature derived ingredients for the protection of natural and traditional cosmetics in a wide pH range. It is a synergistic combination of benzyl alcohol with glyceryl monoesters that boost the preservative action and add emolliency.

• Is gentle to the skin

• Active against bacteria, yeasts & molds.

• It is permitted for the preservation of natural & organic cosmetics according to the major certification standards (Ecocert, BDIH, Soil Association, ICEA, COSMOS Standard, Natrue, and NPA).

Emulsifying Wax NF:

​

Emulsifying Wax NF is a nonionic self-emulsifying wax created to meet the standard for self emulsifying waxes monographed in the National Formulary (NF).  Therefore, it is in our ingredient listing as Emulsifying Wax NF.  It is mild, and provides excellent stability and is vegetables based.  Emulsifying wax is very important in a lotion, because it causes oil and water to mix and not separate - which is called emulsification.

Stearic Acid:  

​

Stearic Acid is a vegetable sourced fatty acid used to thicken and stabilize formulations. Our Stearic Acid meets the standards for Kosher and NF (National Formulary) material.

°  "Natrasil" -also known by the INCI name of Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate/Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables:​  

 

Natural and botanically derived, and has a soft and light after-feel.  Creates an even and protective film on skin and helps it feel smooth and moisturized.​ It's a natural, plant-based alternative to synthetic silicone. Natrasil is made from olive oil esters and olive oil unsaponifiables. These oils as combined herein deliver emollience and skin nourishing properties.

°  Lauryl Laurate:  This is one of our FAVE ingredients because of what it does for our lotion!  It's a natural wax-like ester made from a mixture of coconut and palm oils (RSPO certified sustainable). It is certified by the Natural Products Association (NPA) and accepted by the strictest guidelines in the natural community!  This ingredient has too many benefits to mention but we wouldn't make our lotion without it!

Now, what about the opulent oils used in Mo' Soft Hand & Body Lotion?

°  Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil: 

Because of its high content of magnesium, zinc, and antioxidants, pumpkin seed oil is especially useful in preventing the signs of aging. It promotes moisture retention and improves the skin's elasticity.  The vitamin C in the oil helps the production of collagen that retains skin elasticity while also plumping and building firmness of the skin.  Pumpkin oil is rich in Vitamin C and Zinc which encourages the production of Collagen in the skin. The properties are further enhanced by the high Vitamin A and Beta-carotene content.  anti-acne, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, anti-aging, and skin-soothing benefits.

°  Squalene:

Squalene is a light and stable version of olive oil squalene, hydrogenated to make it stable and non-oxidative. Squalene is found naturally in the sebum of human skin and is believed to lubricate and protect skin.  It is an elegant emollient with exceptional spreading properties and skin absorption. The Olive Squalene that we use in our lotion has been processed without the use of solvents.

°  Organic Shea Butter:

Shea butter is a skin superfood that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree and that is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F. It offers UV protection (it is SPF ~6) and provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production.  A 2010 study found that due to its cinnamic acid and other natural properties, Shea butter was anti-inflammatory. One compound in particular, lupeol cinnamate, was found to reduce skin inflammation and even potentially help avoid skin mutations. This also makes it beneficial for some people with acne. Another study from the American Journal of Life Sciences claims that Shea butter boosts collagen production, demonstrating anti-aging properties.

Shea butter is rich in stearic, oleic acids and benefit-rich vitamin E, vitamin A and vitamin C. It contains about 45–50 percent oleic acid, 30–41 percent stearic acid, 5–9 percent palmitic acid and 4–5 percent linoleic acid.  Rich in vitamin E and vitamin A.

°  Organic Rose Hip Oil:

Rosehip oil contains vitamin C and vitamin A. It also contains essential fatty acids such as:

• oleic acid

• palmitic acid

• linoleic acid

• gamma linolenic acid
   

Rosehip oil is also a good source of vitamin F, a fatty acid made of linoleic acid and alpha-linoleic acid. Rosehips are thought to have more vitamin C than an orange or lemon. Vitamin C has antioxidant properties. Research shows vitamin C may help reduce ultraviolet light damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C also supports collagen production, which helps reduce wrinkling. Finally, vitamin C may increase wound healing and help prevent dry skin.  Rosehip oil contains vitamin A, which may benefit your skin by:

• reducing and reversing sun damage

• reducing wrinkles

• reducing hyperpigmentation

• treating mild to moderate acne.  Rosehips are a great source of lycopene, which is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from skin-damaging free radicals. Rosehip oil has been shown to prevent blackheads, and reduce inflammation.

°  Organic Jojoba Oil:
 

Jojoba oil contains beneficial ingredients such as vitamin E, vitamin B complex, silicon, chromium, selenium, copper and zinc. It has a very high percentage of iodine at 82 percent, which gives jojoba oil its power to heal. It contains three fatty acids: erucic (13.6 percent), gadoleic (71.3 percent) and oleic (11.2 percent). Our sebaceous glands are microscopic glands in our skin that secrete an oily or waxy matter called sebum. The texture and use of sebum is very similar to jojoba oil.  Jojoba oil is an emollient — meaning it moisturizes our skin and prevents irritations, or scaly and rough patches. Dry skin is caused by a loss of water in the upper layer of the skin. Jojoba oil works by forming an oily layer on the top of the skin that traps water in the skin.  Jojoba oil is referred to as an “oil” but it is, in fact, a liquid wax. And that makes all the difference!

°  Organic Glycerin:

​

Glycerin is wonderful for the skin because it acts as a humectant, which is a substance that allows the skin to retain moisture. It literally attracts moisture from the air into your skin!  It can increase skin hydration, relieve dryness, and refresh the skin's surface. It's also an emollient, which means it can soften skin.  What's not to love?

° Chrysanthemum Indicum Flower Extract:

 

 Chrysanthemum flower extract is very rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, making it a popular ingredient in skincare and cosmetic products. It is commonly used to improve the skin's overall health, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and soothe irritated skin.

 

°  Sea Buckthorn Extract:

Sea Buckthorn has been used as a traditional skin treatment for centuries in the form of the oil. Sea Buckthorn is rich in antioxidants, phytosterols, carotenoids, and vitamins E and K — all of which function together to protect your skin's integrity and promote its renewal.

°  Green Tea (Camellia sinensis leaf) Extract:

​

The EGCG in green tea has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. They have shown improvement in treating acne and oily skin.  Research has shown that green tea extract has many benefits for skin, including anti-aging properties. The polyphenols in green tea possess potent antioxidant and skin-soothing properties, and show significant promise for improving the appearance of sun-damaged skin.  Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is one of the active constituents of green tea believed to be responsible for its many health benefits.
